General info on Job Boards -
-
Quotes from this site on 6/22/15 -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Employment_website
-
As of February 2015, the most popular job websites are
Indeed, Monster.com and Glassdoor
-
The largest employment site in the world is
Indeed.com, a "job aggregator", collecting job
postings from employer websites, job boards, online classifieds, and
association websites.
-
Simply Hired is another large aggregator collecting job
postings from many sources.
-
The largest "niche" job board is
DICE.com (website) which focuses on the IT industry.
-
Some of the most famous employer review websites are
Glassdoor,
EnjoyMonday,
RateMyEmployer,
JobAdvisor, or
Kunuku
-
www.dice.com - a top 10 job board. If your
looking for a job in the IT field this is a must job board to create a login
account.
Note: This is my #1 favorite job board site.
-

option that can be submitted quickly.
-

-
www.monster.com - a top 10 job board.
Many recruiters will email you from your resume at this site.
-
This is a MUST site to put your resume at!
-
Telecommute - I don't see a telecommute option. I suggest adding the
word to your search criteria.
-
www.indeed.com - (in 2008 ranked
1st in viewers per month by comScore Inc) - Indeed's
complimentary and comprehensive search engine for jobs provides the
latest job opportunities.
Note: This is a good job board for IT based jobs
but I've found the application submission process is very time consuming
because you have to create a login account at every company's HR
recruiting web site.
-
Telecommute - "Advanced Job Search", "Show Jobs of Type",
"Telecommute".
-
In the left column you can sort the results by Date.
-
To create/edit a job alert email (daily
or weekly) do the following: click on the pull down for your
login username in the upper right corner, then click "My Searches",
click tab "Alerts".
On this page you can create or edit a job alert. When editing a job
alert click on "Advanced Job Search" for many options including
searching for telecommute ("Show Jobs of Type", "Telecommute").
-
I have had companies tell me that when they post a job in
their Talent Management system it automatically posts to Indeed.

Interview Tips
- Salary Negotiation
- Remember, good negotiation is really two parties coming together to find a mutually beneficial outcome.
The goal is "Win, Win" which means that you "Win"
and they "Win".
- Research salary expectations via: Salary surveys, job boards, etc...
- Wait till the interviewer brings up the subject of salary
requirements. That will give you the negotiation edge.
- When asked for your salary requirements, you can respond with a question: "For this
position, what is the salary range you think is appropriate for the most qualified
candidates with my experience and qualifications?"
- If the interviewer is evasive then respond with "Most
of the companies I'm looking at are offering salaries in the range
of <low Salary> to <high Salary>." Now pause and
wait for the interviewer to talk.
- Good luck from here!
