Short Description
A loved one is standing at the casket thinking, "Forever is an
Eternity without you"
Long Description
We all have to go at sometime, but what would you be thinking if you
were the one left behind? Forever is an eternity with you.
Story Behind the Song
A dance friend had lost a husband several years ago. She said she
had this one line "Forever is an eternity with you.". So I decided
to right a song about how I would feel standing in front of my wife's
casket during her funeral. After writing this song I hope
we both live full lives and die together. You have my permission to play
this song at a funeral without my consent.
(Note: Wrote the verses, and the bridge first. Then wrote
the chorus and lastly added the melody.) |

Short Description
This song is about pursing your dreams and leaving a legacy.
Long Description
Listen to Grandpa's wisdom about pursing your dream and leaving a
legacy.
Story Behind the Song
I had been wanting to write a song called "Leave a Legacy" but I didn't
have a clear angle on the song. When I sign my CD's, I like to
write "Leave a Legacy one song at a time". That gave me the idea
for the song. This song has the real reason why I write songs.
I want to touch people, to leave a legacy. When I wrote this song
I had a young (11 yrs old) artist named Moriah Martin in mind.
That's why I put verse 1 in the song. We all need encouragement to
live our dream. Moriah, remember to leave a legacy one song at a
time. |

Short Description
A short story about an orphan girl who finds a home for Christmas.
Long Description
A short story about an orphan girl who finds a home for
Christmas. She enjoys life so much that she wants an orphan girl one
day for her child.
Story Behind the Song
I wanted to right a Christmas song. I looked at alliterations for
Christmas and came up with "Christmas Child". Later that
night, I was watching a TV show on Christmas Eve which had singers raising
money for orphans. A
little orphan boy said, "I wish Santa Claus could find a home for
me." That choked me up. So, I thought, that's what I'll
write the song about. |

Short Description
A young man has one night of sin and story of the effect on his life.
Long Description
One night of sin can have a lingering effect on your life, however,
you can turn things around.
Story Behind the Song
I felt like I needed to write a cheating song but yet I always need a
positive message in my songs. I had the title "One Night Of
Sin" from my song "Dad's sermon on Marriage". Then I
met a lady at a Josh Turner (Long Black Train) concert. She told me
her story of her husbands problem with his secretary, her divorce and then
remarriage to the same man. I was thinking about that when visiting
my mom's (on the Nantahala River) and came up with the story line. I
added the last talking part of the song after talking with my youngest son
about the song.

A father-son talk on the topic of marriage.
Long Description
Dad's sermon on marriage is a father-son discussion on the topic of
marriage: what to do, what to look for, and what to watch out for.
Story Behind the Song
I wanted to take the knowledge that I've gained over 21 years of
successful marriage and put it into a song about a father-son talk between
a dad and his son. I had 2 sons at the time: 13yrs &
17yrs. I spent several months interviewing people on the topic
of marriage and relationships. The ages of my 2 son's at the time
was 17 (senior) and 14.
I created the lyrics first and then added the melody. Melody was
created to the piano. I wrote the song in 3 settings over 3 days.

came the day before while driving up to the Nantahala river.
Short Description

why.
Long Description
Some things happen in our lives that make us wonder why. You may
feel that unless God shows you why, you will always wonder why until you
get to heaven. Two events in my life are like that.
Story Behind the Song
Sometimes we don't have a reason why things happen. We just wonder
why. Two major events in my life came to my mind. My son stuck
a knife in his eye when he was 3 years old. At the time I wrote this
song my dad has Alzheimers. As I wrote this song the tears and
emotions flowed. I wrote the original version while driving to
and from my parents house which is on the Nantahala River in North
Carolina.

Love Bites!
Long Description
The love bug bites by a woman's attraction to a man's butt, eyes,
smile and most of all his personality.
Story Behind the Song
I wanted to create a fun light-hearted song. The chorus seemed
catchy enough that I wanted to start the song with the chorus. I
also varied from the norm by starting the
verses on the 4th chord. The 3 main things that seemed to
attract a woman's attention is the
butt, eyes, smile and of course a person's personality (in that order).
I hope the melody is infectious.
Wrote the song in about 2 hours on the Guitar. I had the title in
mind for about 2 months. Created the melody and chorus together on
the guitar while at my sister-in-laws house during our Christmas vacation.

Short Description
Remember those special moments in life when you felt love and love

Long Description
I remember love and love remembers me. I remember special moments
when my parents showed their love towards me. I remember when I
popped the question to my wife and when we had our first child. Love
never gets bored when I come back for more.
Story Behind the Song
If asked to describe love, it would be hard to put into words.
That's the experience I had when I was trying to interview people on the
top of "What is Love?". However, it's easier to remember when you felt love. It's that
feeling in my heart, that special memory. Those memories keep coming
back to me. I Remember Love and Love remembers me!
I collected my thoughts over 2 weeks. I wrote the song over 2 days. The melody was created on the
piano. This song originally was going to be called "That's What
Love Is". As I did my research for the song, I realized it's easier to
remember the feelings of love than to explain what love is. |

Long Description
I want some granny style lovin' in my modern style livin'.
Girlfriends with granny faces really know how to treat their man.
Story Behind the Song
My grandmother (granny Beland) won a prize on a cruise ship for having the
best saying from a grandchild. Here is the story. When I was
around 6 granny said she had to go out with her girlfriends. I
looked at her and said, "You mean girlfriends with granny
faces." So we (my mom & I) decided to show the traits
of old women verses the new modern women.
Wrote the song over 2 week ends. Had the title in mind about 1 year
ago but I could not find an angle for the song. Created the words
first using Master Writer while collaborating with my mom. Created
the melody on a guitar after the words were finished. I finished the
song on my granny's 100th birthday if she was alive.

If your wife says you just abuse her, then romance her and she will say
that you just amuse her. Long Description
If your wife changed after you married her, then romance her and you
will find that she becomes the woman you married and you will amuse her.
Story Behind the Song
The song is a fast light hearted song that really has a deeper
meaning. If you listen to the story line you will find out why
marriages loose the spark of love. Why does your mate seem to change
after you get married? Here is my reason why. Women react to
relationships with feelings. It's up to the man to spark those
feelings. The man ignites those feelings by continually romancing
his wife. Men, we need to do what we did when we were dating!
That way she feels "amused" not "abused"!
Words was started first because I didn't have an instrument. Melody
was created on the guitar. To about 3 weeks to write the song.
The idea for the song came from my wife. We were visiting my
mother-in-law on the 4th of July when I asked my wife for a cup of
coffee. She replied, "You just use me and abuse me." |

Short Description
My baby does many vain things just to please herself and me.
Long Description
Women do many vain things just to get attention. Many times, it is
for us!
Story Behind the Song
I've always been amazed at the amount of time and money my wife spends on
looking good. From a man's view, we would never spend that much time
or money on such vain things. However, in our society it is expected
from the woman. Asking the question why seemed to bring an indirect
response from women that said they were looking for attention. I've
never had so much fun bouncing the words of this song off of friends and acquaintances.
The melody was
created on the keyboard in around 30 minuets. I had the melody of
the chorus running in my head prior to that. Lyrics were created over several
weeks. At the time I wrote this song, I had spent more time working
on this song than any one song in my past.
Thanks Stephen:
My son, Stephen Thomas, at first thought the song was corny. One
morning he was interested in the song and helped me make changes to the
2nd verse and the bridge. Thanks for the hooks, they really spiced
the song up.
Thanks, Windy Briggs
Windy Briggs was an aerobics instructor at the YMCA who also plays in a
band. We wanted to collaborate on a song and this seemed to be a
good song to get a woman's input on. Thanks Windy for all of the
laughs we've had writing this song. Good luck with your career.
Thanks to all those women who set me straight and gave me feed
back. Special thanks to Helen Taylor and Linda Nauret.

Long Description
This song talks about the joys of being married in stages: Newly
weds, 2 years later, kids later, anytime later, and 20 years later.
Story Behind the Song
I was competing in a talent competition and thought I needed a fast catchy
and funny original song if I was going to have a wild chance at placing
first. While driving home I came up with the title, "That's the
Joy's of Being Married." That night my wife and I was laying on
the swing on our front porch and we came up with the 2,3 & 4th
verses. Over the next couple of days, we added the chorus and
other verses. Charmaine, my wife, came up with the basic wording for
all of the song except the first and last verse (the man's verse). I had to
massage the verses slightly to fit the melody. Charmaine, I've had
many years of joy being married to you!
