• SMTP Test via Telnet - a basic way to test the SMTP server.

  • SmtpDiag.EXE - download from Microsoft's site.
• Microsoft SMTP Server
  • Control Panel, Administrator Tools, Internet Services Manager, "Default SMTP Virtual Server"
  • Relay Server
    • If you use a relay server then do the following:
      • Right click on the SMTP server, choose "Properties"
      • "Delivery" Tab, Advanced, Smart Host - enter the IP Address of the relay server.
  • Relay Restictions
    • "Access" Tab, "Relay" restrictions
    • Check "All except the list below"
    • Check "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list above"
  • Services
    • "Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP)"
      Service name: SMTPSVC
